Introduction

Access to personal documents is a basic requirement, allowing children and youth to continue education, get employment, and get access to government schemes, reservations, and other benefits. Children living in Child Care Institutions often do not have access to their personal identity documents (like their Aadhar card), making it difficult for them to transition into adult life smoothly.

Program Description

We partnered with the relevant government agencies to organize Aadhar card camps. With support from government officials, details of children were collected for Aadhar registration. Through this program (run till 2019), 400+ children across Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kochi received their Aadhar card which became their key ID document.
