Approach

We work to upgrade and transform the quality of care across Child Care Institutions (CCls) like orphanages, open shelters, short stay homes & observation homes that support children in need of care and protection. To achieve this, we have adopted a holistic child care model that touches upon 5 key areas - Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare & Nutrition, Caregiving and Aftercare.

Below is a detailed description of each area:

Infrastructure
Description - Infrastructure improvement of existing orphanages to meet basic standards of safety, hygiene and sanitation. The focus is to ensure better space utilisation and to create child-friendly homes. Program Phase - In execution across Bengaluru, Chennai and Ernakulam districts

Education Description - A teaching volunteer network that provides 6-day week after school tutoring to improve literacy & numeracy skills by grade 5 to ensure children are primed to achieve learning outcomes in their higher grades. Program Phase - Pilot running in Bangalore

Healthcare & Nutrition Description - Provide yearly medical checkups to all children, nutrition plan & training to the cooks and build a counselling network which provides monthly 1-1 counselling to every child across CCIs Program Phase - Not started | Hiring Open

Caregiving Description - Program aims to Improve access to talented & qualified caregivers through a Fellowship that attracts top talent to work in orphanages as a caregiver to 10 children or as administrator to handle operations. This will contribute to transforming the quality at which orphanages are run and drastically improve the quality of care children receive. Program Phase - Not started | Hiring Open

Aftercare Description - Build a network of mentors who will coach the children during their crucial transitory phase, along with providing financial support and ID documentation to allow them to access their rights and opportunities.
