INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
Guardians of Dreams is looking for individuals who are passionate about the cause of child care. Being a startup organization, we require individuals who are willing to bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the role. This is not a regular 9-to-5 job. It will require deep commitment to the outcome and we have a preference for individuals who intend to stay and grow in the organization.
As the Infrastructure Lead, you will primarily be responsible for the design, pilot and roll out of the infrastructure program with the objective of improving and standardising the physical space in shelter homes. The role will involve understanding the existing infrastructure challenges of the sector, studying the nuances of the construction sector and applying these learnings to design a scalable intervention that will transform hundreds of shelter homes into child-friendly, well-designed care institutions. You will be responsible to create templated scalable designs which can be applied across multiple care institutions. The role will also require you to network and partner with a pool of specialists like architects, designers, contractors, vendors across cities for operational efficiency.
- 2+ years experience (full-time or part-time) in project design, project management and project delivery in other non-profits or similar work
- Experience in architecture, civil engineering or in leading infrastructure/construction projects
- Experience in managing projects delivered by multi-city volunteer networks with skills in coaching/mentoring a team of volunteers/interns
- Ability to influence without authority, manage multiple stakeholder relationships, strong strategic thinking and project management skills
