INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
Guardians of Dreams is looking for individuals who are passionate about the cause of child care. Being a startup organization, we require individuals who are willing to bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the role. This is not a regular 9-to-5 job. It will require deep commitment to the outcome and we have a preference for individuals who intend to stay and grow in the organization.
As the Health & Nutrition Program Lead, you will primarily be responsible for the design, test and launch of the health and nutrition program for children living in shelter homes. The program would be designed to effectively build and leverage a network of medical professionals, medical students, medical colleges and hospitals to significantly shift nutritional and healthcare markers for children who live in shelter homes.
Below is a snapshot of the key requirements from the role -
Nutrition Training : Research and study the critical components of an effective diet plan at different stages of child development, understand the current reality of diet and expenditure on food for children living in shelter homes, design a diet plan that uses locally available and budget aligned food, design a program that enables cooks and shelter staff to implement said diet plan towards shifting nutritional and health outcomes for children, design a monitoring and impact evaluation system. Develop systems for effective project delivery, design impact measurement systems, conduct the required tests before the rollout of the program and then operationalize the program across multiple cities.
Medical Camps : Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, hospitals, medical students etc. towards organising regular medical camps/checkups for shelter homes. Research and test different modes of capturing medical data of children towards building a medical profile for each child. Operationalize the program across multiple cities.
Counselling : Research and study the mental health landscape, and interventions in mental health with similar stakeholder groups. Design and operationalize a program to provide mental health support to children via partnerships.
- 2+ years experience (full-time or voluntary) in project design, project management and project delivery in other non-profits or similar work
- Experience in managing projects delivered by multi-city volunteer networks with skills in coaching/mentoring a team of volunteers/interns
- Ability to influence without authority, manage multiple stakeholder relationships, strong strategic thinking and project management skills
- Experience in healthcare (especially with children).
