Program Operations Lead

Introduction

As Program Operations Lead, you will primarily be responsible to liaison with shelter homes across Bangalore, Chennai & Ernakulam districts, collect data about the needs of various shelters homes, identify shelter homes whose needs match the Guardians projects, create operational plans for all three projects and drive their on ground delivery/implementation across the three locations.

Below is a snapshot of the requirements per project :

  • Home Improvement : Identify shelter homes that requires infrastructure upgrade, prepare bill of quantities, identify vendors/partners, negotiate deals, create & manage project schedules, communicate goals and coordinate between various project stakeholders, make onsite visits and ensure effective project delivery, documentation and impact reporting.

  • Scholastic Awards : Selection of the awardees, organizing & tracking distribution of the awards, communication and coordination between project stakeholders, documentation and impact reporting.

  • ID Documentation : Conduct gap analysis of lack of ID documents amongst children living in shelter homes, create and execute remedial mechanisms to procure documents for such children.

Guardians of Dreams runs volunteer driven chapters across its three cities - Bangalore, Kochi and Chennai. A significant portion of execution is done by mobilizing volunteers in our city chapters. Your role will require you to liaison with and manage volunteer chapters for execution of projects. Build project management processes that enable volunteer teams to ensure a smooth, effective project execution. Be available to support/coach and guide your volunteer teams. You will be expected to create a knowledge base based on the feedback from the ground and accordingly tweak or change operational design of the projects.



Preferred Skills or Experience

  • 2+ year experience (full-time or voluntary) in project management and project delivery in other non-profits or similar work

  • Experience in building or working with multi-city volunteer networks with skills in coaching/mentoring a team of volunteers/interns

  • Ability to influence without authority, manage multiple stakeholder relationships, strong strategic thinking and project management skills

  • Ability to negotiate with local vendors and manage vendor contracts
