As the Education Program Lead, you will primarily be responsible for the design, test and launch of K-5 after-school education program for children living in shelter homes. The program would be designed to leverage volunteer chapters to deliver higher learning outcomes and additional exposure for K-5 children living in shelter homes.
Below is a snapshot of the key requirements from the role :
K-5 Education Program : Research and study the syllabi across schools, design an intensive volunteer staffed after-school academic support program for K-5, design volunteer training modules, lesson plans and the required systems for effective project delivery, design impact measurement systems, conduct the required tests before roll out of the program and then operationalize the program across multiple cities.
Outbound Camps/Exposure : Design, test and launch outbound activities to expose K-5 children to experiencing the world outside the walls of their shelter homes, design and roll out yearly excursions, identify and manage partner/vendor relations, operationalize the program across multiple cities.
Guardians of Dreams runs volunteer driven chapters across its three cities - Bangalore, Kochi and Chennai. The execution of the education program is done by volunteers in our city chapters. Your role will require you recruit, train and manage volunteer chapters for execution of the programs. Build project management processes that enable volunteer teams to ensure a smooth, effective project execution. Be available to support/coach and guide your volunteer teams. You will be expected to create a knowledge base based on the feedback from the ground and accordingly tweak or change operational design of the program.
2+ years experience (full-time or voluntary) in education related project design, project management and project delivery in other non-profits or similar work
Experience in managing projects delivered by multi-city volunteer networks with skills in coaching/mentoring a team of volunteers/interns
Ability to influence without authority, manage multiple stakeholder relationships, strong strategic thinking and project management skills
Experience in teaching or teaching related activities (especially of K-5 children).
